Don't get me wrong. It's not everyday that I spend the time I would, should, and could, reading my daily devotional. But today, I did, and it was another good one.
"We have God's hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." Hebrews 6:19
As a little girl, you may have looked up at the night sky and fervently wished upon a star. Now that you're an adult, hope may feel like a "big girl" wish. You hope you'll get a promotion. You hope you'll find the man of your dreams. You hope the test results from the doctor will be favorable. But what, exactly, are you placing your hope in?
Placing your hope in God is not a grown-up version of wishing upon a star. It isn't expecting God to grant your every wish. It's resting in the fact that since God's character is good, trustworthy, powerful, wise, just, merciful, and generous... you can confidently hope for God's best in every area of your life.
Regardless of the difficulties you may be facing today, don't lose heart- or hope. God is both a miracle-worker and a loving Heavenly Father. Hold your head high and hope in the One who holds your past, present, and future in His almighty hands.
